A man from St. Clair County has won a $1.35 million progressive jackpot by playing the Diamond Wild Time Progressive Fast Cash game. The 76-year-old winner, who chose not to reveal his name, bought his ticket after noticing that the Fast Cash jackpot had exceeded $1 million.
“I saw the Fast Cash jackpot was over $1 million, so I bought a ticket,” he said. “I looked the ticket over when I got home and saw a match with ‘Jackpot’ underneath, but I had to scan the ticket on the Lottery app to double check it. I was so happy and excited when the scanner confirmed my $1.35 million win!”
Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli congratulated the winner and noted his retirement plans: “Congratulations to the lucky player on his $1.35 million Fast Cash win and his upcoming retirement. The player won 50% of the record-breaking Fast Cash progressive jackpot, which topped $2.7 million. The jackpot is still growing and now stands at $1.7 million!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Algonac Wine & Liquor located at 411 Michigan Street in Algonac, roughly 30 miles east of Sterling Heights. The man recently claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters and intends to retire with his winnings.
Fast Cash games are instant-win tickets sold at lottery retailers statewide, with prices ranging from $2 to $30 per play. Each ticket offers players a chance to win all or part of a progressive jackpot that increases as more tickets are sold.
There are several types of Fast Cash games available, each offering different prize amounts and shares of the progressive jackpot depending on the ticket price and game type.
Winners can claim prizes immediately since there are no scheduled drawings for these games; tickets never sell out.
