Small businesses in Michigan with 250 or fewer employees are now eligible to apply for matching grants from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA). The MIOSHA Workplace Improvement to Safety and Health (MIWISH) grant program provides up to $5,000 per business to help purchase equipment and related training aimed at improving workplace safety and health.

The program operates on a dollar-for-dollar match basis, meaning qualifying employers must contribute an equal amount to receive the grant funds. The current grant cycle began on October 1, 2025, and awards will be distributed until all available funds are allocated.

For more information about the application process and eligibility requirements, interested businesses can visit www.michigan.gov/mioshagrants or contact MIOSHA’s grant administrator at 517-647-3155.
