The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will hold its twelfth community meeting about the I-375 project in Detroit on Thursday, November 13, 2025. The event is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., with a presentation beginning at 5:50 p.m., at The Eastern, located at 3434 Russell St., Detroit.
According to MDOT, the meeting offers an opportunity for attendees to interact directly with the project team and partners. Participants will receive updates on the current pause in the project, accomplishments so far, proposed revisions, and details regarding upcoming utility upgrade construction activities.
MDOT stated, "All are welcome." The department also announced that the meeting will be livestreamed. Presentation materials will be posted on the project website and available for viewing after the event.
For those requiring assistance to participate effectively—such as mobility, visual, hearing, or written support—MDOT advises contacting Orlando Curry at least five business days before the meeting. Forms are available on MDOT’s Title VI webpage. Requests made after this period will be considered as much as possible.
The I-375 project aims to transform the existing freeway into a street-level boulevard with signalized intersections between Macomb and Franklin streets. The plan includes more connections from neighborhoods into Greektown and downtown Detroit. According to MDOT, features of the proposal include improvements in mobility and access, environmental quality enhancements for neighborhoods, and efforts to honor equitably the history of Black Bottom and Paradise Valley neighborhoods.
MDOT continues to seek public participation in this process. Comments can be submitted by email, phone at 855-375-MDOT (6368), through the project website or in person during the community meeting.
