Michael Rogers spoke with Joe Bamberger, managing partner of Emerge, on the latest episode of the Small Business Association of Michigan’s (SBAM) weekly podcast. Emerge was recently recognized as one of the Michigan 50 Companies to Watch.

The conversation focused on how businesses can retain talent by understanding what younger generations, such as Gen Z and Gen Alpha, seek in a workplace. Bamberger highlighted the importance of providing employees with opportunities for professional development and meaningful work.

“It’s a matter of growth, it’s a matter of creating impact, right? And so if you can create an environment where your employees are consistently learning and growing and receiving more and varied opportunities, and that you’re connecting them with a bigger mission or impact that they’re able to achieve, that leads to a lot of retention,” said Bamberger.
