The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has authorized emergency utility work on US-127 in Lansing following a crash that damaged power lines on Wednesday, November 5. The permit was issued to Zayo and US Signal to replace the downed lines.
The work is scheduled to take place from 4 a.m. to 5 a.m. on Friday, November 7, affecting both northbound and southbound lanes between Saginaw Street and Kalamazoo Street in Ingham County. During this period, motorists can expect intermittent lane closures in both directions.
Traffic management during the operation will be handled by the Michigan State Police. Drivers are advised to anticipate delays while the repairs are underway.
According to MDOT, "Closing the lanes will ensure the safety of utility workers and motorists."
The city most affected by these closures is Lansing.
