The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) in Michigan has expressed approval following the passage of Senate Bill 8 concerning tipped wages. Amanda Fisher, NFIB Michigan State Director, issued a statement acknowledging the legislative body's efforts: "We are grateful to the House and Senate for the bipartisan compromise to make positive changes for the tipped wage. We eagerly await a similar compromise on ESTA that includes an exemption for small Main Street businesses."

The NFIB has been actively urging lawmakers to amend the Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA) before its implementation date on February 21, 2025.
