The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced that two lanes on northbound I-75, north of US-10 in Bay County, will be closed overnight for sign work. In addition to the lane closures, intermittent rolling closures are planned around midnight to allow for the safe removal of an overhead truss sign.
This activity is part of a larger $5.3 million project focused on upgrading signs, overhead sign structures, guardrails, and delineators along I-75 from the Genesee County line north to the Bay County line and from the southern Saginaw County line north to the M-13 connector.
Work is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, and is expected to conclude by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. The nearest community affected by these restrictions is Bay City.
According to MDOT’s economic modeling, this investment will directly and indirectly support approximately 51 jobs.
"This work will include improving signs and other features like guardrails and delineators to increase roadway safety. Lane and shoulder closures during this type of work are necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists," MDOT stated.
The improvements aim to enhance overall roadway safety for both workers and drivers using this section of I-75.
