The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has announced a Grant Funding Opportunity (GFO) aimed at providing transitional supportive housing and related services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and abuse by caretakers.
This initiative, known as the Transitional Supportive Housing program, is centered on a victim-focused approach. It seeks to offer safe, single-family housing with supportive services to assist victims over a period of up to 24 months. This program is designed as a bridge from experiences of violent crime to securing permanent housing. Programs that qualify will offer a range of flexible and optional services tailored to the individual needs of victims, allowing them to navigate their course of action based on personal choice.
Eligibility for the funding extends to 501(c)(3) non-profits, federally recognized Michigan tribes, and universities. The initial grant period is set from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026, with funding totaling $5.7 million. Agencies intending to apply must register with the EGrAMS system and request an application by 5 p.m., Thursday, May 22. Applications for the program must be submitted electronically via EGrAMS by 3 p.m., Thursday, May 29. Technical support will be offered until noon on that day through the EGrAMS Help Desk.
A pre-application conference is scheduled to provide further details on this funding opportunity and to instruct on using the EGrAMS system. This conference will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 1, lasting approximately 90 minutes, and can be accessed online at https://bit.ly/4jA7UMQ.
