Today, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel introduced a new reporting form intended for Michigan residents who are facing disruptions in their Social Security benefits or services. This reporting tool aims to gather detailed information from those affected and pinpoint recurring issues impacting Social Security recipients in the state.

Attorney General Nessel emphasized the importance of Social Security for many Michigan residents and expressed concern over reported disruptions. "Social Security supports millions of people across our state," Nessel stated. She attributed these disruptions to what she termed as "the Trump Administration’s reckless decision" to execute large-scale terminations of Social Security Administration employees.

Residents encountering difficulties with their Social Security payments are urged to report their experiences through the Department of Attorney General’s website. The collected information, while potentially used in future legal pursuits, will be held confidential unless consent for sharing personal details is given. Nessel also advised residents seeking assistance on Social Security matters to contact their U.S. House Representatives or Senators, acknowledging the state agency's limitations in addressing federal benefits.
