The Center for Quality and Family Support, part of the Center for Healthy Communities, has been awarded a $10,000 Family Challenge Grant from the Parents as Teachers (PAT) National Center. This grant is intended to advance Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) within the organization.

Dr. Renée Branch Canady, CEO of MPHI, expressed gratitude for the grant: “We are honored and grateful to receive this grant from Parents as Teachers National Center, which will help us strengthen our commitment to DEIB and enhance our capacity to serve families and communities in Michigan.”

The center offers training and support for Maternal, Infant & Early Childhood Home Visiting programs. The funding will allow them to hire a consulting firm focused on evaluating DEIB efforts and developing an Equity Plan.

Constance Gully, President and CEO of Parents as Teachers National Center stated: “Parents as Teachers is proud to partner with MPHI and support their efforts to promote DEIB within their team and their community.”

These grants are part of PAT’s Investing in the Power of Families Initiative aimed at increasing enrollment in home visiting programs worldwide. To date, PAT has distributed $1.75 million across 40 organizations globally.
