TalentLMS, a prominent learning management system, has published a report on growth mindset in the workplace. The survey involved 300 business leaders and 1,000 employees in the U.S., highlighting that while executives acknowledge the importance of a growth mindset for success, they are concerned about generative AI's potential negative impact on soft skills.

A growth mindset involves believing that intelligence and abilities can be developed through effort and learning. "As leaders, we must embody this growth mindset and lead by example," said Nikhl Arora, CEO at Epignosis, parent company of TalentLMS. He emphasized creating an environment where everyone feels empowered to take risks.

The study revealed several key findings: 80% of executives believe a growth mindset directly contributes to revenue growth; 89% agree future business success relies on leaders who embrace it; and 64% report higher productivity as a benefit. However, obstacles such as fear of failure and resistance to change persist.

Executives emphasize overcoming these barriers by leading by example (90%), providing continuous learning opportunities (87%), and normalizing discussions around failure (84%). Despite 96% of executives claiming to embody a growth mindset, only 45% of employees agree their leadership demonstrates it effectively.

A notable finding is that 53% of executives believe generative AI could hinder developing crucial skills like active listening and critical thinking. This raises concerns about technology's role in shaping the workforce's future.

Additionally, the study found that 52% of employees would leave their jobs for companies offering more development opportunities. "It’s a clear call to action for leaders: invest in your people’s growth or risk losing them," commented Arora.

The report also promotes an upcoming webinar titled "Prospering Amid the 4th Industrial Revolution: Navigating Disruption and Embracing Change" scheduled for October 22, which will discuss technological advances reshaping our world.
