The Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) has introduced a new certification aimed at supporting veteran-owned and service-disabled veteran small businesses. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC), seeks to enhance the visibility, credibility, and growth potential of these businesses across Michigan.

"This certification allows us to support Michigan veterans and their business endeavors," stated Michelle Beebe, Chief Revenue Officer of SBAM. "Through this certification, we hope to give small, veteran-owned businesses the recognition and credibility they deserve."

Michigan hosts a vibrant community of veteran entrepreneurs who play a significant role in the state's economy. The new certification provides these business owners with increased contracting opportunities, access to specialized resources, and recognition in both government and private sectors.

To be eligible for this certification, businesses must be at least 51% owned and operated by a veteran or service-disabled veteran. The application process is managed through the NVBDC, with further details available on the SBAM website.

"We strongly encourage all eligible veterans to pursue this certification," added Beebe. "By exploring this opportunity and its benefits, veteran-owned businesses can take important steps toward growth and long-term success."

The Small Business Association of Michigan is dedicated to serving the needs of Michigan's small business community through advocacy, collaboration, and buying power. It currently serves over 32,000 members across all 83 counties in Michigan from its location in Lansing.
