August 19, 2022 – Property owners near the City of Midland’s Jack Barstow Municipal Airport are advised that they may encounter data collection field workers near their homes and businesses for an ongoing environmental analysis.
Over the next several weeks, field workers from Mead & Hunt will canvas areas to the southwest and northeast of the Airport to collect data about natural or cultural resources, such as wetlands, trees, and historic buildings. This analysis is a necessary component of safety compliance required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for current airport operations as well as future projects.
Please note: The presence of data collection workers in an area does not necessarily mean that the area would be impacted by proposed projects in the future.
In some locations, private property may need to be accessed and/or photographed to complete the necessary data collection. The City asks that property owners provide field workers with access to their properties if requested to complete the analysis as quickly and thoroughly as possible Workers will have identification from Mead & Hunt and can provide a letter of authorization upon request.
For more information on this analysis, please contact the Jack Barstow Municipal Airport at 989-835-3231 or email Airport Manager Sarah Pagano at spagano@midland-mi.org.
