The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced a change to the schedule for pavement warranty work on Interstate 496 in Eaton County. The closure of the eastbound I-496 Exit 1 to Creyts Road, initially planned for October 30, will now take place from 6 a.m. Monday, November 3, until 7 p.m. Monday, November 10.

Meanwhile, the closure of the Creyts Road entrance ramp to westbound I-496 remains as originally scheduled and will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 30.

Motorists traveling through this area should expect delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes during these periods.

According to MDOT, "This project will increase safety for motorists and extend the lifespan of the roadway."

The affected highway is I-496 near Lansing in Eaton County. The adjustments are part of ongoing efforts by MDOT to maintain and improve transportation infrastructure in Michigan.
