The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) has announced the opening of the Underserved, Value-Added, and Regional Food Systems Grant. Proposals for this round must be submitted by June 11, 2025, by 5 p.m. EST.
Governor Whitmer's bipartisan budget continues to support these grants, which aim to assist underserved businesses, enhance value-added agricultural processing, and strengthen regional food systems and supply chains. MDARD recently named 51 project recipients for the fiscal year 2024 funding cycle.
An informational webinar for potential applicants is scheduled for April 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Microsoft Teams. No registration is required to attend. More details, including access to the webinar, can be found on the Underserved, Value-Added, and Regional Food Systems Grant page.
Prospective applicants can review eligibility criteria, match requirements, application guidelines, and program specifics on the MDARD Grants page. All submissions should be made through the MiAgGrants system.
Further information about MDARD's grant programs is available at www.Michigan.gov/MDARDGrants.
