NMU women’s Nordic ski team competes at CCSA Conference Championships

The NMU women's Nordic ski team concluded their participation in the CCSA Conference Championships at the Tech Trails in Houghton, Michigan. The event featured a 7.5k classic race.

Michigan Tech's Bridget Burns, Greta Hansen, and Marie Wangen secured the top three positions on the podium, capitalizing on their familiarity with the home course.

Henriette Nilssen was the first Wildcat to finish, placing fifth among conference skiers with a time of 27:08.9. Her teammate Jordan Parent followed closely in sixth place with a time of 27:13.3.

Victoria Dybwad and Merle Richter also finished consecutively, securing eighth and ninth places among conference skiers with times of 27:47.1 and 27:57.0, respectively.

Ella Niznik and Pearl Harvey completed their races in 18th and 19th positions among CCSA athletes, clocking times of 29:37.3 and 29:45.9. Lena Kjelstrup rounded out the Wildcats' performance with a time of 31:30.9.

Looking ahead, NMU will host the NCAA Central Regional Skiing Championships next weekend at the Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming, Michigan. The event will take place on Saturday, February 22, and Sunday, February 23, featuring a similar schedule as this weekend with a 7.5k race on Saturday followed by a mass start 20k on Sunday.
