Northern Michigan finishes 23rd at Lewis Crossover cross country event

The Northern Michigan University (NMU) cross country team participated in the Lewis Crossover event held in Romeoville, Illinois, on Saturday. The team secured the 23rd position out of 36 teams.

Gianna Hoving led NMU with a time of 22:13.60, finishing in 52nd place. Dani VanLente followed, securing the 111th spot with a time of 22:58.77. Other notable performances from NMU included Emma Sweeney (23:20.22), Skylar Grubb (23:36.69), Celia Wallace (23:40.10), and Lamar Gordon (23:41.17), all achieving top-200 finishes among over 330 participants.

The Colorado School of Mines emerged victorious at the meet, with Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge winning individually with a time of 20:38.46.

Looking ahead, NMU will compete in the Bay College Invitational on Friday, October 18.
