Four athletes from Northern Michigan University's volleyball team have been recognized by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) for their performance this season. Jacqueline Smith, Meghan Meyer, Allie Barlow, and Liesl Haugen received honors from the conference on Friday.

Jacqueline Smith was awarded First Team honors for the fifth consecutive year. This season, she leads all conference players with 436 kills, ranking her among the top 20 nationally. Smith achieved a career-high of 28 kills against Michigan Tech on October 30 and has accumulated a total of 1,907 career kills. She also set a new program record by surpassing Andrea Gommans' previous record of 1,664 kills established in 1993.

Meghan Meyer also earned All-GLIAC recognition for the fifth time as a senior middle blocker. She reached her milestone of 1,000 career kills earlier this season and holds a .353 hitting percentage, placing her fifth in the conference. Meyer has recorded at least six kills with over a .300 hitting percentage in 14 matches this season.

Sophomore setter Allie Barlow joined the Second Team alongside Meyer. Barlow leads GLIAC setters with 1,129 assists this season and is among the top 15 nationally in that category. In addition to assists, she has contributed significantly with kills, service aces, digs, and blocks throughout the season.

Liesl Haugen was named an Honorable Mention for the second year in a row. The sophomore libero has registered 429 digs this season—third most in GLIAC—and played an instrumental role in NMU's five-set victory against Michigan Tech on October 30 by achieving a personal best of 31 digs.

These four athletes have played pivotal roles in advancing Northern Michigan University to the GLIAC Semifinals against Grand Valley State scheduled for November 23 at Big Rapids.
