MARQUETTE, Mich. - The NMU women's soccer program has announced the hiring of Natalie Stampfly as an assistant coach for the 2024 season.

Stampfly spent the past year as a graduate assistant for the women's soccer team at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Georgia. During this time, she earned her master's degree in health and human performance.

"We are thrilled to welcome Natalie as our new assistant soccer coach. As an alumna of both Northern Michigan University and our own soccer program, Natalie brings a deep love and dedication to our team," said head coach Jon Sandoval. "During the interview process, Natalie's experience coaching at the Division 2 level stood out. We are confident in her commitment to our success and are excited to watch her grow in this new role. As a player, Natalie was a great leader for our program and has been able to transfer those leadership skills into her coaching role at the Division 2 level."

A 2022 graduate of Northern Michigan University, Stampfly will be returning to Marquette where she played five seasons with the Wildcats. As a two-year team captain, she helped NMU make the 2022 conference final and earn a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

"Natalie is an exciting young coach, and NMU and her alma mater are lucky to have her," added Jack Merchant, the Georgia College & State University Head Women's Soccer Coach. "She had a great impact on our program down here at GCSU and certainly helped lay some substantial foundations for us to continue to build this program. She will help Jon continue to do fantastic things up in Marquette, and I look forward to following her success."

Stampfly began her coaching journey with Marquette United Soccer Club. She has also spent time assisting with camps at NMU.
