The Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) recently held a briefing to discuss changes affecting the state's small business community. The event featured SBAM President and CEO Brian Calley, alongside Kelli Saunders, who addressed updates on state budget allocations, tax policies, and funding for roads and schools.

The briefing highlighted new taxes introduced on cannabis products and modifications in insurance assessments. Attendees were informed about the continuation of funding for initiatives such as Pure Michigan and Going Pro, which support tourism promotion and workforce training programs in the state.

Calley and Saunders also discussed opportunities for small businesses to improve energy efficiency through available programs. In addition, they examined upcoming Supreme Court cases that may influence the business environment in Michigan.

The session aimed to provide small business owners with information on recent policy developments and how these changes might impact their operations. SBAM encouraged members to stay updated by accessing additional news and resources on its website.
