Contractors working for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will carry out corrective warranty repairs on M-28 in Munising, Alger County. The work is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, and will continue until the end of the day.
Both eastbound and westbound lanes of M-28 will be closed between Cedar Street and Elm Avenue during the repairs. Eastbound vehicles will be detoured onto Elm Avenue and East Superior Street before returning to M-28. The detour route will be reversed for westbound traffic. In addition, H-58 (East Munising Avenue) traffic will be rerouted onto Mill Street.
According to MDOT, "This project will help ensure continued safe and reliable operation of the roadway."
The repairs are part of ongoing efforts by MDOT to maintain road safety and reliability in the area.
