Today, Trentin McWilliams, a 24-year-old from Norway, Michigan, who had recently been living in California, received a sentence of 8 to 15 years for sexually assaulting two minors. The announcement was made by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. In May, McWilliams entered a no-contest plea to Second-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for an incident involving a child at a relative's home in 2018. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of Third-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct for the assault of a 14-year-old girl in a vehicle in October 2022.

McWilliams was brought back to Dickinson County in September 2024 by the U.S. Marshals Service under Operation Survivor Justice. This operation is a collaborative effort between the Michigan Department of Attorney General, local county prosecutors, and the U.S. Marshals Service aimed at locating and returning fugitive offenders with outstanding sexual assault warrants to Michigan.

"This Operation Survivor Justice conviction is a powerful example of what this partnership can accomplish," said Nessel when McWilliams entered his plea. "Through our work with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Dickinson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, we were able to deliver accountability and a measure of justice to the two courageous individuals who came forward."

After serving his prison term, McWilliams will be subject to electronic monitoring and required to register as a sex offender.
