The Northern Michigan University Women's Soccer Team will conclude its five-game home series with a match against Michigan Tech. The Wildcats, currently holding a 3-3-4 overall record and 3-2-1 in the GLIAC, are coming off a weekend where they earned four points and moved up in the conference standings. Last Friday, Northern Michigan achieved a comeback victory against Ferris State with a score of 2-1, followed by a 3-3 draw against Saginaw Valley State on Sunday. With these results, the Wildcats now have 10 points and are tied for third place in the conference alongside Ferris State.
Michigan Tech enters the match with a 1-8-1 overall record and 1-4-1 in conference play. The Huskies recently suffered two home losses to Saginaw Valley and Ferris State, both ending with scores of 2-1. Despite being on a four-game losing streak, Michigan Tech has been undefeated on the road this season after two away games.

Reflecting on recent performances, Coach Egolf said, "I think we learned a lot about ourselves [over the weekend]. We have a lot of fight and a lot of grit in our team, and I think we showed that."
In their last outing, Hannah Kastamo scored two late goals against Ferris State to secure only the second comeback win over the Bulldogs in program history. Players Gretchen Ellis, Carly Sides, Addison Wargo, and Irene Kiilunen each played the full match. Against Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), Northern Michigan built an early lead but conceded three goals late to finish with a draw. Kastamo continued her scoring streak with goals in three consecutive games.
For Michigan Tech, most games this season have been at home except for two away contests against Parkside (a 1-1 draw) and Roosevelt (a 3-1 win). Offensively, Peyton Wetzel leads the Huskies with eight points from three goals and two assists. Wetzel is currently on a two-game point streak with assists in consecutive matches. Reilly Lovercheck is also on a two-game scoring streak. Goalkeeper Bri Barrows has made 52 saves this season with a .776 save percentage.
Historically, Northern Michigan leads the series against Michigan Tech with a record of 15 wins, nine losses, and four draws. The Wildcats are unbeaten in their last eight meetings against the Huskies and have not lost at home to them since September 30, 2018.
