A Shiawassee County resident received an unexpected birthday gift by winning $200,000 in the Michigan Lottery's Club Keno game. Richard Lake, aged 76, matched 10 out of 20 numbers drawn in a Club Keno draw on February 9. His winning numbers were 01-10-11-21-29-38-49-70-72-77. The prize was doubled to $200,000 thanks to The KICKER feature.
Lake purchased his ticket at American Legion Post No. 248 located at 1240 West Grand River Road in Laingsburg, which is situated approximately 20 miles northeast of Lansing.
"I love playing Club Keno and play often at the American Legion," Lake stated. "I was there on my birthday and bought a ticket just before I left. When I stopped at a party store later in the day, I checked my ticket and was very happily surprised that I had won $200,000!"
Recently visiting Lottery headquarters to claim his prize, Lake plans to invest his winnings.
Club Keno offers players multiple ways to win by selecting up to ten numbers from one to eighty. Prize amounts depend on the wager made by the player. The game is available at various Lottery retailers throughout the state with drawings occurring every three and a half minutes.
