A woman from Kent County has secured a $495,002 jackpot while playing the Michigan Lottery's online instant draw game, Michigan Jackpot. This win came after she participated in an online promotion by the Michigan Lottery.
"I got an email from the Michigan Lottery for an online promotion, so I decided to test my luck on the Michigan Jackpot game," stated the winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous. "Within my first five plays, I won $500! I told myself I would cash out if I got down to $300, and just before I did, I hit for the jackpot!"
She recounted her excitement when informing her husband about the win. "My husband wasn’t home, so I called him screaming to tell him that I had just won, and he asked: ‘Are you sure you have the comma in the right place?’"
The 54-year-old recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. She intends to use her winnings to pay off her home, purchase a new vehicle, and embark on a "dream vacation."
