Dybwad and Kraftson honored as top skiers by Central Collegiate Ski Association

The Northern Michigan University (NMU) nordic ski team has earned recognition for its outstanding performance in the 2025 Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) season. Victoria Dybwad and Adrik Kraftson have been named the CCSA Skiers of the Year, representing both the male and female categories.

Athletes' scores are determined by their two best conference results in freestyle and classic races, with the lowest score of three being dropped.

Victoria Dybwad accumulated a total of 157 points during the regular season and conference championships. She scored 80 points in her best two freestyle finishes and 77 points in her top classic races. Her notable performances included a silver medal at the CCSA Championships' 20k mass start and a gold medal at the College of St. Scholastica invite, each earning her 40 points in freestyle. In classic races, she secured first place at the Ariens CCSA Invite with another 40 points and achieved a silver medal at the College of St. Scholastica invite for 37 points.

Adrik Kraftson excelled at the CCSA Championships to secure his position as Skier of the Year with a total of 139 overall points, comprising 68 freestyle points and 71 classic points. His freestyle score was achieved through third-place finishes at both the US Cross Country Ski National Championships and the College of St. Scholastica CCSA Invite, each contributing 34 points. Kraftson's classic race success included fourth-place finishes earning him 31 points before clinching gold at the CCSA Championships for an additional 40 points.
