NMU men's swim team secures multiple All-American honors at NCAA Championship

The NMU men's swim and dive team concluded their participation in the 2025 NCAA National Championships, securing several All-American honors.

Tobie Stiles finished 16th nationally in the 3-meter diving event, earning a second team All-America honor with a finals score of 438.55. He advanced to the consolation finals after placing 14th in preliminaries with a score of 432.55.

Daniel Lopez Aponte competed in the 400 IM, finishing third in the consolation final and 11th overall with a time of 3:53.08, which also earned him a second team All-America honor. He qualified for the consolation finals by finishing fifth in his heat and 13th overall with a preliminary time of 3:45.91.

The 'Cats' 400 medley relay team, consisting of Ian Rocheleau, Wyatt Dickman, William LaCount, and Leo Nolles, finished sixth in their heat and 13th overall with a time of 3:12.57, achieving second team All-America status. The team's performance saw them moving from eighth to sixth place during the race exchanges.

In other events, Dickman participated in the morning session's heat three of the 200 freestyle prelims but did not advance to evening competition after finishing third in his heat with a time of 1:38.23.

Stiles made it through to the consolation finals for the 3-meter diving event with his preliminary score of 432.55, while Benaiah Schnurstein ended up ranking as high as possible without advancing further.
