The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has introduced the Michigan Public Health Data Dashboard. This tool provides a detailed view of public health trends within each State House and State Senate district, aiming to support policymakers with data-driven insights.

The dashboard is designed to be a comprehensive resource accessible to lawmakers, local officials, advocacy groups, and the general public. It offers key health metrics that can help identify challenges, allocate resources effectively, and develop policies to enhance health outcomes throughout Michigan. The available public health metrics cover various areas such as:

- Health outcomes including mortality data, blood lead levels, and low birth weight.

- Health behavior trends like binge drinking, smoking, and teen births.

- Social and economic factors such as housing costs and unemployment.

- Physical environment trends including pre-1980 housing.

- Clinical care trends like rates of prenatal care.

Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian, chief medical executive and Public Health Advisory Council co-chair stated: “We are excited to announce this dashboard and make it available to Michigan policymakers and the public.” She emphasized its value not only for state lawmakers but also for local leaders, advocacy groups, and individuals in informing local public health decisions.
