Leo Nolles wins bronze at NCAA Championship for NMU

The NMU men's swim and dive team completed the second day of competition at the 2025 NCAA Championship in Indianapolis, Indiana. Leo Nolles achieved a significant milestone by winning a bronze medal and earning first-team All-America honors in the 50 freestyle event. He also anchored the second-team All-America 200 medley relay team alongside Ian Rocheleau, Wyatt Dickman, and William LaCount.

During the morning sessions, Daniel Lopez Aponte participated in heat three of the 200 IM prelims. Aponte finished seventh in his heat with a time of 1:49.68 but did not advance to the finals. In the 50 free prelims, Nolles won his heat with a time of 19.70, advancing to the A finals and securing first-team All-America status. William LaCount competed later but did not qualify for the finals.

In the afternoon sessions, Nolles secured third place in the 50 free finals with a time of 19.54 seconds. The Wildcat's evening concluded with their relay team finishing sixth in their heat and eleventh overall in the 200-yard medley relay, achieving second-team All-America recognition.

The upcoming schedule includes various events for NMU athletes such as preliminaries and timed finals across different swimming categories over Thursday to Saturday.
