NMU women's Nordic ski team concludes NCAA championship

The NMU women's Nordic ski team concluded their participation in the 2025 NCAA National Championships with the 20k mass start event. Henriette Nilssen and Victoria Dybwad, representing NMU, finished in 24th and 26th places with times of 55:13.3 and 55:33.6, respectively.

In the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) rankings, Nilssen was the top finisher, followed by Greta Hansen from Michigan Tech in 25th place at 55:26.6, with Dybwad securing third among CCSA competitors. NMU accumulated a total of 12 team points to finish in 11th place overall, while Michigan Tech followed closely behind in 12th place with seven points.

The competition featured 40 athletes from 17 institutions. Kendall Kramer from the University of Alaska led the race with a time of 50:14.2, earning her a gold medal to add to her ninth-place finish earlier in the week. Erica Laven secured second place at 50:49.6, complementing her previous gold medal performance in the 7.5k event. Tilde Baangman from the University of Colorado took bronze with a time of 51:01.8 after finishing tenth on Thursday.

In terms of team standings, Utah topped the list with a total of 78 points, followed by Colorado with 72 points and Montana State with 68 points.

The Wildcats will take a short break before concluding their season at the US Spring National Championships & SuperTour Finals scheduled to take place in Lake Placid, New York, from March 26 to March 30.
