The NMU men's golf team concluded its first spring season competition by securing third place at Saddlebrook. The Wildcats maintained their position after moving up one spot, posting a team score of +39 on the final day to end the week at +101. Missouri S&T led the tournament with a score of +5 on the last day, finishing at +36 overall. McKendree secured second place with +71, while Walsh and Roosevelt were close in fourth and sixth places with scores of +109 and +110, respectively. Saint Xavier finished the tournament with a total of +185.
Throughout the competition, players averaged a score of 81.78 on the final day, slightly higher than the weekly average of 81.71. The par-five fourteenth hole was notable for being the only hole to play under-par all week, averaging 4.81.
NMU ranked fifth in par-three scoring (+43), fourth in par-four scoring (+145), and fifth in par-five scoring (+14). The Wildcats recorded 30 birdies, 137 pars, and had high numbers in bogies (106) and double-bogey+ (51).
Walter Ylitalo stood out by finishing 10th individually with a three-day total of +18, making him the leading player from NMU. He posted a round score of +8 (79) on the final day and achieved nine birdies over the tournament.
Arthur Ylitalo delivered NMU's best round on the last day with a score of +3 (74), moving him to 12th place individually with a total score of +20. Arthur achieved seven birdies during his performance.
Tyler Annala and Russel Sprecher both finished tied for third on their team and placed 21st individually with three-day totals of +33. Levi Pennala completed his rounds at +13 on the last day to finish 30th overall.
Brady Badker ended his participation with a round score of +21 (92), resulting in a three-day total of +55 for 37th place. Competing as individuals, Kyle Maki and Joe Luke finished 31st and 32nd respectively.
