An Oakland County resident experienced an unexpected windfall after winning a $250,000 prize in the Michigan Lottery's KENO! game. The 71-year-old man, who has chosen to remain anonymous, successfully matched 10 out of the 22 numbers drawn on February 11. His ticket featured the winning numbers: 12, 27, 34, 50, 52, 58, 59, 69, 76, and 77. The ticket was purchased at Oakland Liquor in Southfield.
The winner expressed his astonishment upon discovering his good fortune. “I always say: ‘You can’t win if you don’t play,’” he remarked. He has been participating in KENO! for several years and typically buys one ticket each week with seven draws. Reflecting on the moment he realized his numbers were selected, he said, “When I checked the winning numbers on Feb. 11 and saw all of mine listed, I was speechless. I still am letting this big win sink in; it’s incredible.”
Following his victory, the player visited Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. He intends to use the winnings to pay bills and purchase a new home.
KENO! tickets are available for $1 each. Players choose ten numbers from a pool of one to eighty for a chance to win various prizes ranging from a free instant ticket up to $250,000. Drawings occur daily at 7:30 p.m.
