The NMU women's golf team concluded their participation in the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff, securing a sixth-place finish out of seven teams. The Wildcats ended the week with a cumulative score of +207.
Marian University led the competition, finishing first with a total score of +92 over three days. Bethel followed in second place at +134, and McKendree secured third place with a score of +154.
The course presented challenges throughout the event, culminating in an average score of 92.56 on the final day and a three-day average of 92.05. The Wildcats ranked sixth in par three scoring (+82), par four scoring (+235), and par five scoring (+91).
Maggie Pietila was the top performer for NMU, finishing 13th overall with a round of 88 (+16) today and a total score of +38 for the tournament. She achieved one birdie on the par-four 11th hole, contributing to her four birdies during the event.
Maddy Martens recorded a round of +23 today, placing her 20th overall with a total score of +50 after three days.
Abbie Pietila delivered the best Wildcat performance today with a final round score of +15 (87), moving up to 26th place individually with a total score of +59.
Hailey Bolander finished just behind Abbie Pietila in 27th place after recording a round of +18 (90) for an overall score of +60.
Other notable performances included Gabriella Moreau finishing 34th at +95, Payton Dube at 36th with +106, Olivia Brill in 33rd at +83, and Abby Luke tied for 34th at +95.
