A Wayne County resident has won a $500,000 prize in the Michigan Lottery's 20X instant game. The winner, who prefers to remain anonymous, initially used coupons from the Lottery’s Spin to Win game to purchase several instant tickets. After winning $10 from those tickets, she bought more and eventually selected the 20X game on a store clerk's recommendation.

“When I stopped at the store, I asked the clerk what was lucky, and he told me that the 20X game was new, so I chose that ticket," she said. "When I scratched it off and scanned it with my Lottery app, confetti started flying and I cried tears of joy.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Taylor Party Store on Telegraph Road in Taylor. The 73-year-old winner recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize and plans to save her winnings for future security.

“I feel like this was heaven sent. It feels so good to know me and my family will be alright,” she expressed.

Since its launch earlier this month, players have won over $2.5 million playing the 20X game. Each $5 ticket offers prizes ranging from $5 up to $500,000. There are still more than $30 million in prizes available, including two top prizes of $500,000 each.

In 2023 alone, nearly $1.8 billion was awarded through instant games by the Michigan Lottery. These games can be purchased at various retailers throughout the state.
