NMU Athletics prepares for a packed schedule from March 5-9

Northern Michigan University (NMU) Athletics is gearing up for a busy week from March 5 to March 9, with multiple teams competing in various events across the country.

On Wednesday, March 5, both the men's and women's golf teams will participate in the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff held in Wesley Chapel, Florida. The lacrosse team will face Quincy at 4 PM in Quincy, Illinois. Women's basketball will play against No. 7 Saginaw Valley State at 5:30 PM as part of the GLIAC Tournament. Men's basketball follows with a game against No. 5 Grand Valley State at 7:30 PM in the same tournament.

The golf teams continue their participation at the Saddlebrook Spring Kickoff on Thursday, March 6. Meanwhile, NMU's men's and women's nordic ski teams will compete in the NCAA Championships taking place in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Friday brings the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships to Coralville, Iowa, where NMU's wrestling team will compete starting at 11 AM. The lacrosse team has another match scheduled against Missouri Western at 3 PM in Quincy, Illinois.

The weekend sees further action with the nordic ski teams continuing their participation in the NCAA Championships on Saturday, March 8. The wrestling championships also continue on this day. Both women's and men's basketball are set for GLIAC Tournament Semifinals; however, specific times have yet to be determined.

Concluding the week on Sunday, March 9, NMU's women's and men's basketball teams aim for victory in their respective GLIAC Tournament Championships. Additionally, the lacrosse team is scheduled to play Maryville at noon in St. Louis, Missouri.
