A lottery club from Macomb County has claimed a $1.1 million Lotto 47 jackpot prize from the Michigan Lottery. The winning numbers for the December 14, 2024 drawing were 09-15-16-30-40-44, and the ticket was purchased at Liquor Land in Eastpointe.

The club's representative shared that the ticket was bought as a birthday gift for his father. "I don’t buy tickets often, but when I do I always buy them at Liquor Land because I remember my father always bought tickets there when I was a kid," he said. Upon checking the numbers after the draw, his father needed to verify several times before believing they had won.

Lottery Commissioner Suzanna Shkreli commented on this memorable win: “What a memorable birthday gift for a son to give to his father. Topping this gift will be nearly impossible, but sharing such a wonderful memory – and a jackpot win – with your family is priceless!”

The winners opted for a one-time lump sum payment of approximately $763,000 instead of annuity payments for the full amount. They plan to use their winnings to pay bills and invest in a business.

Lotto 47 tickets cost $1 per play with an option to add Double Play or EZMatch for additional chances and prizes. Drawings are held twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
