The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is set to host a public open house to discuss the upcoming improvements at the Blue Water Bridge plaza in Port Huron. The event aims to inform community members, city representatives, local businesses, and interested residents about the start of the first phase of plaza enhancements, known as Component 1. MDOT staff and contractors will be present to provide project information and address any questions.
The open house is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. It will take place at the MDOT Blue Water Bridge Annex located at 2127 11th Ave., Port Huron, MI 48060.
For attendees requiring assistance due to mobility, visual, hearing, or other needs for effective participation, contact Orlando Curry at 517-241-7462 or CurryO@Michigan.gov. Requests should ideally be made five business days before the meeting date. While requests after this period will still be considered, their fulfillment depends on feasibility.
The meeting will cover details about Component 1 of the plaza expansion project slated to begin in spring. This component involves several infrastructure changes including relocating the eastbound I-94/I-69 exit to M-25 (Pine Grove Avenue), reconfiguring the intersection at 10th Avenue/Pine Grove Avenue, rebuilding sections of eastbound I-94/I-69 near the MDOT maintenance facility, and installing noise walls along key routes.
