A Wayne County resident experienced a significant turn of events after winning $500,000 in the Michigan Lottery's VIP Cashword instant game. The player, who has chosen to remain anonymous, shared his experience: “I bought this VIP Cashword ticket on the day of the Lions’ playoff game,” he said. “Of course, everyone knows how the Lions game went but scanning the ticket and seeing I won $500,000 took some of the sting away!"

Reflecting on his win, he added: “It still doesn’t feel real that I won, but I am very excited to be able to help family and then tuck some money away for myself.”

The winning ticket was purchased at a Marathon gas station located at 22063 Ryan Road in Warren.

Since its launch in October 2024, players have claimed over $13 million from Lincoln tickets. Each $5 ticket offers prizes ranging from $10 to $500,000. There are still more than $39 million in prizes available, including two top prizes of $500,000 and 36 prizes of $1,000.

In 2023 alone, lottery players collected nearly $1.8 billion from instant games across Michigan.

Lottery instant games can be purchased at various retailers throughout the state.
