The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking public input on a proposed project to remove the Fullerton Avenue bridge over I-96 in Detroit. MDOT will host both virtual and in-person open houses to provide information on the proposed removal, detour routes, and improvements to the nearby Hubbell Street bridge.
The virtual open house is scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Participants can join by phone using conference ID 745 590 012#. The in-person open house will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Adams Butzel Complex located at 10500 Lyndon St., Detroit, MI.
MDOT encourages community representatives, local businesses, interested residents, and MDOT staff and consultants to attend these sessions. Attendees requiring special assistance should contact Orlando Curry at least five business days before the meeting.
The project aims to permanently remove the Fullerton Avenue bridge and reconstruct Hubbell Avenue with pedestrian and bicycle improvements. Two new traffic signals are also planned at both ends of the Hubbell Street bridge.
Public feedback can be submitted online via the Fullerton Avenue survey or through provided contact details until March 7, 2025.
