The NMU men's nordic ski team concluded their participation in the 2025 CCSA Conference Championships with strong performances in the 7.5k classic race, securing the top two positions.
Adrik Kraftson achieved first place after narrowly missing the podium in a previous event. He finished 17 seconds ahead of his closest competitor and 32 seconds faster than the third-place finisher, clocking a time of 22:04.0.
Luke Fricker, another member of the Wildcat team, earned second place with a time of 22:21.0, standing alongside Kraftson on the podium.
Wes Campbell from Michigan Tech completed the top three with his finish time of 22:36.0.
Other notable performances included Jonathan Clarke finishing eighth among conference skiers with a time of 23:17.6 and Kristoffer Karsrud taking ninth place among CCSA athletes at 23:37.7. Hendrik Peterson secured the thirteenth position with a time of 23:51.7, while Mathias Haugen rounded out the team's efforts at 27:07.7.
Looking ahead, NMU will host the NCAA Central Regional Skiing Championships next weekend at Al Quaal Recreation Area in Ishpeming, Michigan on February 22 and February 23. The event will feature similar races to this weekend's competition, including another run of the 7.5k on Saturday followed by a mass start 20k on Sunday.
