Northern Michigan University is preparing for a significant weekend in GLIAC Men's Basketball as they host Lake Superior State and Ferris State. The Wildcats will face the Lakers on February 13 and the Bulldogs on February 15, marking their final regular season home games.

Northern, with a record of 16-6 overall and 10-4 in conference play, is currently tied with Ferris State and trails Lake Superior State by one game. This weekend's matches are crucial as all four top teams in the league are within a game of each other, vying for the GLIAC regular season title.

The Wildcats have been performing well recently, winning their last four games. Coach Matt Majkrzak emphasized the importance of maintaining focus: "We have to get in the mindset that if we are happy with our four-game winning streak, it's going to end really sad for us on Thursday night."

Key players include Jackson Dudek, who has been averaging 15.8 points per game since joining the starting lineup, and Dylan Kuehl, who ranks 11th in the conference with an average of 15.1 points per game.

Lake Superior State holds a strong position at No. 15 in national rankings with a record of 20-4 overall and 11-3 in conference play. Senior guard Tyson Edmondson leads their team scoring with an average of 16.1 points per game.

Ferris State is ranked No. 20 nationally with a record of 20-5 this season and shares Northern's conference record at 10-4. Ethan Erickson leads their scoring efforts, averaging 16.8 points per game.

Both games can be watched via FloSports or listened to on Casey Ford's broadcast on The Point radio station.
