In the opening race of the Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) season, held in Brillion, Wisconsin, the Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's Nordic skiing team demonstrated strong performance. The team secured four out of the top five positions in the 15k event at the Ariens Invite.
Leevi Tarjanne from the College of Saint Scholastica took first place. However, NMU racers dominated the subsequent spots. Luke Fricker earned second place with a time of 32:27.0, completing laps in 6:14.8, 6:26.6, 6:36.3, and 6:33.4.
Kristoffer Karsrud secured third place with a time of 32:31.5 after recording lap times of 6:08.8, 6:34.1, 6:34.2, and 6:35.6.
Adrik Kraftson and Jonathan Clarke finished fourth and fifth respectively with times of 32:34.1 and 33:09.5.
Hendrik Peterson narrowly missed a top-ten finish by securing the eleventh spot with a time of 33:58.2.
The NMU team is preparing for their next challenge as they join forces with the women's team for the Mixed Freestyle Relay scheduled for tomorrow.
