The NMU men's nordic ski team achieved notable success at the 2025 US Cross Country Ski National Championships in Anchorage, Alaska. The team secured the top four conference finishes in the 20k mass start event.
A total of 97 skiers registered for the race, with 85 completing it. Among those who did not finish were ten DNS (did not start) and two DNF (did not finish).
Adrik Kraftson led the NMU contingent by finishing first among conference skiers, placing 12th collegiately, 16th among U23 competitors, and securing the 28th position overall with a time of 54:05.4. Kristoffer Karsrud followed closely, ranking 14th among collegiate athletes and 13th among senior skiers, finishing in the 30th spot overall with a time of 54:26.0.
Jonathan Clarke finished just behind Karsrud as the third CCSA skier in line, placing 32nd overall with a time of 54:28.1. Luke Fricker completed NMU's strong showing by securing the fourth CCSA position and ending up in 36th place overall with a time of 54:51.4.
Unfortunately, Hendrik Peterson was unable to complete the race after two laps.
The competitors will have a rest day before concluding their participation in Anchorage with the upcoming freestyle sprint event on January 7, which covers a distance of 1.4 kilometers.
