Karsrud reaches semi-finals at US XC Ski Nationals

The NMU men's nordic ski team participated in the 1.4k classic sprint event at the US Cross Country Ski National Championships in Anchorage, Alaska. The competition began with a qualification race involving 218 skiers, which was narrowed down to five quarter-final brackets of six racers each, taking the top 30 skiers from qualifying. The field was then reduced to 12 for the semi-finals before selecting the final six for the finals.

Kristoffer Karsrud advanced to the semi-finals, racing in the second semifinal bracket and recording a time of 3:05.58. He reached the semi-finals with a quarterfinal time of 2:59.87 and a qualification time of 3:05.93.

Luke Fricker narrowly missed qualification, finishing in 35th place with a time of 3:07.34. Hendrik Peterson and Jonathan Clarke finished consecutively with times of 3:17.74 and 3:18.03, respectively, while Adrik Kraftson completed his run with a time of 3:21.10.

The team now prepares for tomorrow's race in the 20k mass start classic event.
