NMU men’s nordic ski team competes at US Cross Country Ski Nationals

The NMU men's nordic ski team participated in the first day of the US Cross Country Ski National Championships, held in Anchorage, Alaska. The event featured a 10k individual start race with 231 skiers from various age groups.

Luke Fricker led the Northern Michigan University (NMU) team by finishing 36th overall. He was 21st among U23 skiers and second among conference competitors. Fricker's lap times were recorded at 11:23.6 and 11:33.8, culminating in a total time of 22:47.5.

Adrik Kraftson followed closely behind Fricker, securing the 39th position overall. He placed 24th among U23 skiers and third within the conference with a time of 23:03.6.

Jonathan Clarke completed his race with a time of 23:41.5, earning him the 68th spot overall, while he ranked 33rd among U23 skiers and seventh in the CCSA category.

Kristoffer Karsrud finished in the 99th position overall with a time of 24:14.6, placing him 23rd in the senior age group and 11th among conference skiers.

Hendrik Peterson rounded out NMU's performance by finishing in the 113th position overall. His time was recorded at 24:24.5, making him the 45th U23 skier and ranking him as the 13th conference competitor.

The NMU team is set to compete again on Saturday in the upcoming 1.4k classic sprint event.
