The NMU women's nordic ski team participated in the Gitchi Gami Games, with Henriette Nilssen advancing to the semifinals in the classic sprint. Nilssen clocked a time of 3:35.62 in her semifinal heat after securing second place in her quarterfinal heat with a time of 3:36.54. She concluded the event in 12th place overall and was sixth among athletes under 23 with a time of 3:39.59.
In another quarterfinal heat, Jordan Parent and Pearl Harvey finished fourth and sixth, recording times of 3:50.26 and 3:55.67 respectively. Parent achieved an overall ranking of 23rd and was 16th among under-23 competitors with a qualifying time of 3:45.46, while Harvey placed 28th overall and eighth in the senior division with a time of 3:52.09.
Ella Niznik posted a qualifying time of 3:55.78, finishing three spots short at 33rd overall.
The next event is scheduled for tomorrow, featuring the Freestyle Individual 10km as part of day three activities at the Gitchi Gami Games.
During day one’s freestyle sprint event, Nilssen, Niznik, and Harvey did not start (DNS).
