The NMU men's ski team has completed its second day of competition at the Gitchi Gami Games in Cable, Wisconsin. The event featured the Classic Sprint race.
Luke Fricker reached the quarterfinals, finishing fifth in his heat with a time of 3:01.75. He had qualified for the race with a time of 3:03.63, ranking as the 29th fastest overall and 11th among U23 competitors.
Other team members' times included Jonathan Clarke with 3:10.09, Hendrik Peterson with 3:12.73, and Adrik Kraftson with 3:26.24.
The third day of the Gitchi Gami Games is set for tomorrow and will feature the Freestyle Individual 10km race.
On the first day of competition, which involved the Freestyle Sprint, Luke Fricker recorded a time of 2:44.89 in his quarterfinal heat but did not advance further despite being one of eight collegiate athletes to reach that stage. His qualifying time was 2:47.99, placing him 18th overall and eighth among U23 athletes.
Hendrik Peterson posted a time of 2:58.95 on day one, finishing in 41st place, while both Jonathan Clarke and Adrik Kraftson did not start their races.
