The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) will continue to provide food assistance to Flint residents through mobile pantries in September. This initiative, which began in February 2016, is a collaboration with the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.

In September, the mobile pantry distribution will include various produce items such as potatoes, summer squash, carrots, cabbage, and grapes. The schedule for distributions is set at several locations:

Bethel United Methodist Church will host distributions on Mondays—September 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th—at 10 a.m. Asbury United Methodist Church will hold its events on Tuesdays—September 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th—also starting at 10 a.m. Greater Holy Temple is scheduled for Thursdays—September 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th—beginning at the same time.

Residents can also access free nutritional food from Flint Help Center locations during specified hours: Bethel United Methodist Church on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Asbury United Methodist Church on Tuesdays from the same time frame; and Greater Holy Temple on Thursdays.

Further information regarding additional food distributions will be provided as it becomes available. Residents are encouraged to visit the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan website or call their office for updates on distribution schedules.
