The Northern Michigan University (NMU) volleyball team is gearing up for its final home matches of the season. The Wildcats will face Saginaw Valley State on Friday, November 3, at 6:30 p.m., which will be family and poster signing night. Their last home game is against Davenport on Saturday, November 4, at 3:30 p.m., featuring Military Appreciation Day and Senior Day.

Currently holding a conference record of 6-8, NMU shares the sixth spot with Purdue Northwest in the GLIAC standings. Davenport and Michigan Tech are slightly ahead with a 7-7 record. With four matches left in the season, each game holds significant importance for NMU's standing.

The Wildcats' social media presence can be followed via @NMU_Volleyball and @NMU_Wildcats on X (formerly Twitter) for updates before and during the games.

In their recent match against Michigan Tech, NMU staged an impressive comeback after trailing by two sets to win in five sets. Jacqueline Smith led with 21 kills, tying her season-high performance.

Saginaw Valley State enters this weekend's matchup with a conference record of 1-13 and an overall record of 4-21. Earlier this season, NMU defeated them in three sets away from home. The Cardinals' offense is driven by Madison Thompson and Sarah Veal.

Wayne State comes into their match against NMU with a GLIAC record of 5-9 and an overall record of 10-15. In their last encounter with NMU, Wayne State swept the Wildcats in three sets. Molly Miller leads Wayne State's attack alongside Kayla Giroux.

Both matches are pivotal as NMU aims to improve its position within the GLIAC standings.
