Northern Michigan women wrestlers excel at Grand View Open

The Northern Michigan women's wrestling team showcased their skills at the Grand View Open in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday. Three wrestlers achieved multiple victories, with two securing top-five finishes in their respective weight classes.

Mickaela Keane secured fourth place in the 170 class after winning three out of five matches by decision. Marisa Angelos finished fifth in the 155 class with a record of 4-2, including three wins by decision and a forfeit victory in the fifth-place bout.

In addition to these performances, Teniola Ajayi claimed two victories at 191, while Tasha Kuberski and Sharon Leon each recorded one win.

Competing among 33 teams in the Gold Division, the Wildcats concluded the event ranked tenth overall.

Looking ahead, Northern Michigan will host Alma for a dual meet at the Superior Dome on Tuesday, February 6th at 6 p.m.
